Ms Martina Caruana - Psychology Assistant
Martina Caruana graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) in 2016, and is currently reading for the Master of Psychology in Neuropsychology at the University of Malta.
She is also trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, which allows her to conduct group and individual sessions with children, adolescents and adults who required DBT in conjunction to other forms or therapy or medication. She also volunteered at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital, where she worked with individuals who suffered strokes and brain injuries, as well as the Child and Young People’s Services (CYPS), assisting children with ADHD and those on the Autism spectrum.
Ms Caruana starting working as a psychology assistant within TAASC and currently holds the position of neuropsychology trainee. Since beginning work with the team she was trained in completing assessments, scoring, report-writing and client interaction. She has worked cognitively with a number of individuals with traumatic brain injuries and Alzheimer’s disease, helping them to retrain their brain and compensate for lost cognitions.
